人間の美しさの裏にある陰。 本作品「陰影 In-Ei」は、人間の持つ汚さや陰を美しさとして表現したものである。 誰しも人間は明るい面と暗い面を持ち合わせている。他者には美しい面だけを見せようと努力することも多いが、怒りや憎しみという感情や、欲望などの暗い面も人間の一部である。これらの面も受け入れることで、より豊かで複雑な人間らしさが生まれる。「粋」を私なりに解釈すると、人間のあらゆる面、光と影の両方を理解し受け入れることが、存在をより深く理解することにつながり、心の豊かさの本質的なきづきにつながると考える。 この思想を表現するため、MAISUZKIは釘を使わず木を組み合わせて紋様を作る伝統技術「組子」を拡張し、唯一無二の「立体組子技術」で作品を制作した。パズルのように木を組み合わせるだけで本作品は作られた。 Yin behind the beauty of human beings. This work, In-Ei, expresses the dirtiness and yin of human beings as beauty. Everyone has a bright side and a dark side. We often try to show only the beautiful side to others, but the dark side, such as feelings of anger and hatred, and dark desires, are also part of human beings. By accepting these aspects, a richer and more complex humanity is created. My personal interpretation of ‘iki,’ is thas understanding and accepting all facets of human, both light and shadow, leads to a deeper appreciation of existence and is considered an essential awareness of the richness of the heart. To express this message, MAISUZKI expanded Japanese traditional technique of “Kumiko”, which creates patterns by combining pieces of wood without using nails, and used the one and only “3D Kumiko technique”. This work was created by simply combining the wood like a puzzle.
